Group Discussion

Our Method, Our Magic

Our signature approach for our community groups, seasonal retreats and camps. We believe that transformation happens not just in solitude but in healthy community. We create structured spaces where people practice emotional presence, honest self-inquiry, and collective reflection. In Circle, the group becomes the teacher, inviting connection, truth-telling, and growth in real time.

The Community Circle

Whether we’re exploring self-abandonment or building healthier friendships, transformation in Circle runs deeper than the topic. It’s not just what we talk about, it’s how we practice being together. In every session, we’re building the relational muscles to better connect to ourselves and others.

Here's what's actually happening beneath the surface:

  • Co-Regulation: The process by which we help regulate each other’s nervous systems through connection.

  • Collective Meaning-Making: We don't just share, we reflect together, connecting personal truths to cultural and systemic patterns.

  • Welcoming the Full Range of Being: We create spaces where all emotions are welcome, breaking shame and inviting authenticity.

  • Feeling Witnessed: Being seen without interruption or fixing affirms our worth, fosters trust, and turns vulnerability into connection.

  • Rewriting the Script Through Experience: The circle becomes a living antidote to past wounds, offering a new experience of being heard, held, and valued that reshapes how we relate.

What's Happening Beneath the Surface?

5 Core Principles

Botany

Self-Reflection

We build self-awareness through self-reflection. This includes emotional vulnerability, mindfulness, and staying rooted in our own experience.

Botany

Storytelling

We speak from lived experience. Telling our stories is how we connect, reveal, remember, and make meaning. It’s the heart of our process.

Botany

Shared Voice

Everyone has a voice that matters. We honor equal participation, resist hierarchy, and co-create a space where wisdom is collective.

Leaves

"Sawubona"

A Zulu greeting meaning “I see you.” We practice Sawubona by witnessing one another with curiosity and care, honoring each person’s humanity and dignity.

Shared Joy

Connection is lived, not just spoken. Whether at the dinner table or a workout class, we create and deepen bonds through shared joy.

Our method draws from evidence-based practice and social theory on how people grow in community:

I. Psychology & Neuroscience

We draw from evidence-based frameworks on how humans develop, bond, break, and heal in both body and mind.

  • Social Psychology (Identity Formation & Group Behavior)

  • Attachment Theory & Interpersonal Neurobiology

  • Trauma Theory & Somatic Psychology

II. Systems Thinking & Social Theory

Systemic intelligence: recognizing that healing must account for history, power, and the ecosystems we live within.

  • Systems Thinking & Liberation Psychology

III. Community Wellness Practices & Relational Intelligence

Emphasizing the art and science of human connection, trust-building, and collective wisdom in group dynamics.
